Vallan 2025 Movie Review

Vallan 2025 Movie Review : VR Mani Seiyon’s Vallan starts with a dramatic escape from a police station and wraps up with revelations of money laundering through religious trusts. Between these points, the film crams enough twists and subplots to fill an entire TV season, but it struggles to make us feel invested in any of it.

The story revolves around Divakar (Sundar C), a suspended cop investigating the murder of businessman Joel (Kamal Kamaraj), found dead in his farmhouse. The case takes a personal turn when it ties back to Divakar’s missing fiancée, Aadhya (Tanya Hope), who vanished after uncovering shady dealings at Joel’s company. As the investigation unfolds, we encounter a model (Hebah Patel) under scrutiny, a maid with buried secrets, power struggles within Joel’s company led by his wife Anitha, and an evangelical empire run by Arokyaraj that seems more focused on profits than faith. The final twist hinges on a tragic child’s death that connects these threads, though by that point, it’s hard to muster the energy to piece it all together.

Sundar C takes an understated approach as Divakar, offering a calm but somewhat detached performance. Hebah Patel manages to leave an impression with her screen presence, but the supporting cast and their characters often get overshadowed by the film’s relentless pile-up of betrayals and twists. By the time the climactic reveal arrives, it lands with minimal impact, feeling more like a checkbox than a moment of payoff.

The biggest flaw of Vallan is mistaking a packed storyline for a compelling one. Instead of delivering an edge-of-your-seat thriller, it turns into a draining exercise, losing focus in the maze of its own complexity. Ultimately, it’s the kind of movie that leaves you wishing someone had trimmed the plot rather than complicating it further.
