Baby John Movie Review: A Thrilling Father-Daughter Saga

Baby John Movie Review

Baby John Movie Review – In Baby John, bakery owner John D’Silva (Varun Dhawan) is a devoted single father to his young daughter Khushi (Zara Zyanna). However, when her teacher, Tara (Wamiqa Gabbi), accidentally uncovers John’s past as the fearless cop DCP Satya Verma, John’s double life is exposed. This sets off a chain of events that forces him to confront his old nemesis, Nana (Jackie Shroff), a dangerous criminal seeking revenge for his son’s death. As Khushi’s life is threatened, John is compelled to return to his past to protect her.

Baby John Movie Review highlights the strong father-daughter bond at the film’s core, with moments of humor and warmth, especially with Tara. Yet, the narrative falters when delving into John’s flashback as a supercop. The story, written by Atlee, Sumit Arora, and Kalees, follows a familiar action-thriller formula, featuring a hero fighting against criminals and a predictable romantic subplot between Satya and Meera (Keerthy Suresh). The movie picks up pace when Nana’s son kidnaps a young girl, and Satya works to bring him to justice.

Despite its lengthy runtime of two hours and forty-one minutes, Baby John Movie Review reveals an uneven balance between John’s past and present struggles, making the film’s flow occasionally disengaging. However, the film still delivers thrilling moments, with action-packed sequences and some witty self-references, such as a nod to Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya character. Kiran Koushik’s cinematography adds flair to the action, with dynamic camera angles and fiery stunts.

Varun Dhawan excels in balancing his dual role as a loving father and a fearless cop, giving the film emotional depth. Wamiqa Gabbi shines with her performance, though her role as an undercover cop is left unexplored. Rajpal Yadav, playing constable Sevakram, and Jackie Shroff, as the menacing Nana, both stand out, elevating the film’s entertainment value.

In conclusion, Baby John is an engaging action film, but in terms of content and storytelling, it doesn’t fully reach its potential. Still, it remains an enjoyable ride for action enthusiasts.
